Monaco Gran Prix 2010

This year’s Monaco grand prix was certainly one of the most exciting races for last few years. There were mechanical failures, crashes, skills involved and tempered flared in this race. It had me all pumped so I thought why not I go for a quick drive around in my Audi TT roadster or my sister’s Audi Q5 which we purchased from used cars garage few months ago. It wasn’t a good idea because I couldn’t drive fast and it certainly isn’t the formula one machine. So the best idea is to just watch it and not get too over excited but I might just get to drive F3 car in Silverstone one day.

The race was about to start and gorgeous weather surrounded Monaco. The distance of the race is 260.520km and the length of the circuit is 3.340km. Mark Webber the Australian took the pole in qualifying and was in the first row with Robert Kubica of the Renault team. Behind these two was the young emerging start German Sebastian Vettel. Many people are backing the German to win F1 championship this year after last year.

The race was interrupted few times, which brought safety car in to the track few times because of some horrific crashes. Sebastian Vettel got a terrific start who tipped Kubica but couldn’t tip Webber and the race started with Mark Webber leading, Vettel second and Kubica third. Every time Webber pulled away a bit from the rest of the pack the safety car was called in and everyone caught up with Webber. To be honest that did keep the race interesting. At the end of the race after 78 laps it was indeed the Australian who too the chequered just in front of Vettel and then Kubica who finished third.

The race highlight has to be Webber’s win but let’s not forget Alonso’s fantastic race from 23rd position to finish 6th it was a great race from the Spaniard.
