The Corvette – My Dream Car

Corvette ZR1 vs fighter jet - There's only one winner

Growing up in Detroit, the motor town, I got to see a lot of classic cars for sale.  Folk would drive around in Trans Ams, Firebirds, Mustangs, and all those alternative Yankee muscle automobiles.  The difficulty was that during the winter, Michigan uses many tons of salt to solve its ice Problems.  This rots the cars, making them rust before their time.  The one model that I gained the utmost respect for was the car that never seemed to age the eternally youthful Corvette.  Equipped with a fiberglass body, even 1962 Corvettes for sale looked to be in tip-top condition.

From the time I was a teen, it was my dream to have a Corvette for sale.  One of my mates was into Trans Am’s, except for me that wasn’t where it was at.  Corvettes were the best.  They combined the grunt of the American muscle cars with a sporty, exotic look.  Although the new Corvettes were awesome, the old ones are my fave.  I was not a huge fan of used cars for sale generally, but old Corvettes, with their exaggerated sensuous curves, were dream machines to me.

Nevertheless, I didn’t have a lot of cash.  New automobiles For sale were out of the question of course.  Even most classic Corvettes , however , were beyond my.  I had to get a cheap used car, or I wouldn’t have any auto.  I stayed away from the lots that specialized in Corvettes for sale.  The majority of those were visited by connoisseurs, and that drove the price up.  Instead, I went to some local used auto lots until I found it : a beat up but drivable 1973 Corvette.  I knew that it wasn’t in good shape, and that it would probably take a large amount of work, but I was still overjoyed when I found it.  Of course , there were not many Corvettes for sale within my price range.

One of the things that you have to realize when you buy Corvettes for sale is that the body almost always looks better than what is going on on inside.  That isn’t to point out Corvette don’t ware well they do.  The problem is simply that, barring a serious crash, a fiberglass Corvette body will last forever.  If you really wish to know if the automobile is in good condition, you have got to get under the hood.  When I did, I was decidedly unhappy.  It definitely needed lots of work.  Nevertheless, I knew some folk with expertise in autos to show me everything I wanted to know.  I took it to shop class, and worked on it after faculty.  Soon, I had one of the meanest machines on the road.

The Bikes, Cars & Boats Blog has a multitude of articles on assorted vehicles of all shapes and sizes including of course the Chevrolet Corvette.
